The challenge

The search for good communication

The journey that brought Interacta to SCM Group began in 2018. Gian Luca Fariselli remembers that year well, he tells us: «The Group had launched a corporate responsibility project with the commitment to finding new solutions to improve corporate life».

Among the priorities was certainly ensuring an increasingly fluid and effective flow of information within the company. In such a structured reality, says Gian Luca Fariselli, it was difficult to reach people. The problem was accentuated when it came to reaching fieldworkers active in the field and therefore far from common office terminals.

According to SCM Group, Interacta could be the best solution to bridge the gap between the various offices and so it was: the platform allowed to optimize communications and increase the involvement of all colleagues around the world.

What exactly does Interacta do within SCM Group today?

Within the Group, Interacta acts as the lowest common denominator of three levels of communication:

  • top-down, from the center to the periphery: the various offices can now communicate quickly and simultaneously with branches distributed around the world and in different time zones;
  • bottom up, from the periphery to the center: once communications are received from the central office, the branches are able to provide feedback quickly and easily;
  • horizontal, between multiple teams and departments: people and teams who have been collaborating for years but are located in different locations have an intuitive tool at their disposal to exchange knowledge and information.

Questa testimonianza è la dimostrazione che il classico “abbiamo sempre fatto così” non può essere una giustificazione. Anche se email e telefonate sono spesso considerate la base della comunicazione sul lavoro, per SCM Group non erano gli strumenti adatti.

Il coraggio di cambiare e l’attenzione verso le persone sono stati determinanti: con un tasso di adozione spontanea di oltre il 60% oggi Interacta rappresenta un punto di riferimento per le persone in azienda.

Linda Piva, coordinatrice del progetto, lo definisce un grande traguardo: fin dall’inizio i suoi promotori sapevano bene che la difficoltà maggiore era quella di comunicare la novità a tutti in modo efficace.

La semplicità di utilizzo di Interacta ha reso intuitivo anche questo passaggio. La user experience della piattaforma è così simile a quella degli strumenti a cui siamo già abituati nella vita privata che le persone, in un certo senso, sanno come funziona Interacta ancora prima di usarla. Da questo a renderla un must-have della propria giornata lavorativa il passo è breve.

Results

A new social life in the company

Interacta has innovated the way people collaborate in SCM Group. The most used adjectives to describe the new corporate life are: simple and natural. When we hear these words we know we have done a good job.

Our solution, as we have seen, was born with the aim of bringing to organizations the same naturalness and speed with which we manage OOO life (Out of office or, simply, outside the office).

We asked SCM Group to explain in detail how they use Interacta every day.

«On Interacta, management and the communications office can convey institutional messages, but we have also introduced open communities where people can share experiences of various kinds, not just work-related ones».

This is how Gian Luca Fariselli describes the main innovation, that is, the possibility of truly connecting people and increasing engagement through communities open to the entire company population.

Here colleagues, even those who have never met in person, can interact, get to know each other and exchange objects like in a real market.

Linda Piva sums up the new approach as follows: «We use Interacta to get to know each other better, also through our passions».

Un altro elemento che ha favorito la collaborazione in azienda è stato l’introduzione di alcune community di reparto utilizzate per esempio dal team sales per condividere esperienze, informazioni di servizio e trend di interesse per il business.

Questo ha permesso di aumentare il coinvolgimento e la partecipazione non solo in generale in azienda ma anche all’interno dello stesso reparto.

The virtuous example: the case of the corporate flash mob

The use of Interacta has given rise to important team building and loyalty initiatives over the months . An example that is very dear to the Group and also to us was the organization of a flash mob to celebrate March 8th.

All women working in the Italian offices and branches of SCM Group were invited to record a video according to specific guidelines provided on the platform.

«The final result, born from the union of the various videos, was then shared with everyone. In this case Interacta became the means to quickly and rapidly promote a group activity that brought together people with different functions and roles, without hierarchy and in a transversal way. It therefore gave life to a moment of co-creation that was unthinkable until a few months before. And we are proud of this», concludes Linda Piva.

For a structured company it is important to have a defined and recognizable brand identity .

Interacta has made it possible to extend the most important elements of corporate identity to all Group stakeholders, starting with the sharing of documents, guidelines and corporate identity templates.
